VERSE:
Stop running, darling
Look back at your foot prints
Can’t you see the circles
In the sand?
Stop hiding, darling
Behind unforgiving scars
At least your ankles
Have not snapped in half

PRE CHORUS:
Now mind your step
It’s really not that hard
But don’t tread lightly
You’ve got to make your mark

CHORUS:
Finding your feet
After a down fall
Is not all that impossible
You know
Just look beneath you
See the support
You’re standing on
And you’ll find them

Sometimes you walk
Over all you need
Leaving the ground
Beneath you for granted
But dearest, step back
And let Him carry you
He’s been here this whole time

VERSE 1:
Sorry I’m amused by this so called
Am I really in the wrong?
Sorry cliched isn’t what I wanna be
Am I really in the wrong?

PRE CHORUS 1:
Although I like you a lot
I still see you in my mind
I though love was supposed to be
Blinding

CHORUS
I gave you my heart
Is that where my spare kilos went?
I gave you my heart
Now I feel so lighthearted
I gave you my heart
The lessons have been learnt
I gave you my heart
Hence why I feel so empty

VERSE 2:
Poetic expressions on the radio
Is this really love?
Endless love scenes on the TV
Is this really love?

PRE CHORUS 2:
I know my life’s not better
As you don’t leave me speechless
‘Cause somehow I’m still
Singing

CHORUS

BRIDGE:
They say love’s like a blind man
Stumbling his way around
But I’m not that convinced
It’s how it’s really bound
I see it as a silent mute
Chosen not to be heard
Lost in the dark? I don’t think so
Instead let’s be lost for words!

CHORUS

This darkness has deafen me, Oh Lord
The noise blinding me from your light
Waiting to see You loud and clear
To make a joyous sound to Your sweet ear

But now on this mountain top
In this quietness
I see the song You want me to sing
The song of stillness

You are the Song of Songs, Oh Lord
I long to be in tune with You
Your timing more perfect than a metronome
You always hear my call
You’re not in the fire or storm
So help me mute this noise
This is my song and prayer to You
I love You, You’re the perfect Ear

I’ve heard Your love song to me, Oh Lord
That is sung through all your blessings
I long to give total glory
As your grace leaves me speechless

But now on this mountain top
In this quietness
I see the song You want me to sing
The song of stillness

You are the Song of Songs, Oh Lord
I long to be in tune with You
Your timing more perfect than a metronome
You always hear my call
You’re not in the fire or storm
So help me mute this noise
This is my song and prayer to You
I love You, You’re the perfect Ear

Please forgive me, Oh Lord
For not honouring You with my gifts
I wish Your song would forever be,
Be more than a melody
You are the Song of Songs, Oh Lord
I long to be in tune with You
Your timing more perfect than a metronome
I love You, You’re the perfect ear

Everything in distant
Between you and me
What brings us together?
You’re all I see
Together we’re like jazz and classical
Both with complexities
And by our dissonance
We’re in harmony

While everyone in life
Is competing for the melody
But maybe it’s not what we sing
But how we see
Things can be seen black and white
Like these piano keys
Until we sing someone else’s tune
That we’ll see this clearly

To sing our own tune
We need to see ourselves though other eyes
Altering from black and white
This is how we harmonise
To write our own song
We need to sing other melodies
This is what brings us together
The piano keys

They say life’s just a song
And I say I agree
To live to the full
You need to step back from the melody
View the world and ourselves
Away from the complexities
It’s not until we look through
Other’s eyes we’ll truly see
